[Shoutout]: Participate in the Winter Run this Christmas Season!

Update as of 19 Oct 15:

Due to some complications regarding the run route, the Winter Run will be postponed to 26 Mar 16, Sat. The time and venue will be the same but instead of an 8km route, it will be a 5km route.

Registration for the run will end by 28 Feb 16 while early bird rates will end by 6 Dec 15.

Listen up men, women, boys and girls!

An interesting run is coming to town this Christmas season and it's none other than the Winter Run!!!

Seriously, I'm not kidding.

Winter Run started in United Kingdom (UK) and for the first time, it's coming to Singapore on the 12 December 15, Saturday! The race village will open at 3pm while the flag off will commence at 4pm.

All runners will be participating in an 8km race starting from the Big Splash @ East Coast Park and ending at the Senior Garden @ Gardens by the Bay.

I know there's no winter or snow in Singapore, but hey, that doesn't mean we can't do a Winter Run here.

Runners will be entering 3 zones during the race, namely:

1. Seasons in the Fun Zone

There's gonna be a bouncy slide in this zone, oh my god. This is the first time I'll be going on a bouncy slide during a run.

You will also be expected to see carnival games, jugglers, clowns and Christmas carollers who will be belting out some pretty awful Christmas carols. Oh my, will this motivate you to run quickly out of this zone?

2. Let It Snow Zone

Apparently, when you are in this zone, you will be transported into a snowy land with snowy trees, snowmen, falling snow and even a cool breeze. I wonder how that will really happen in humid Singapore but I guessed that will depend on the creativity of our organizers. I supposed this will be the zone where everyone will be anticipating to dash through the snow, with or without a one horse open sleigh.

Get ready to take lots of photos in this zone with photo opportunities and photo booths. After all, how can we miss the chance to capture ourselves in this winter wonderland? I am excited already.

3. Brave The Cold Zone

This zone sounds the most adventurous of all because firstly, you get to venture through an ice cave. Although you might not come face to face with a sleeping polar bear, you get to enjoy some lovely ice-cold treats inside so no one's complaining.

Oh yes, be prepared to also jump into their ice bath and end this zone with a blasting chill.

Although 8km may sound daunting, I suspect that you will be playing and having a jolly good fun most of the time instead of actually running and watching the time. There's just so many distracting things to see and do in each zone!

If you still can't imagine how the run is gonna look like, check out the video below for London's version of the run.

Oh yes, adults and children are welcomed to register for this, so sign up with family and friends for some healthy and intriguing fun this Christmas season! Trust me, it's gonna be a memorable experience for all of us.

Santa Claus, we're coming for you! :)
